Blast Corps was one of the first games available for N64. In fact, the first ones already out when the console of Nintendo was released were Super Mario 64, Turok, Killer Instinct Gold and Blast Corps.

This game, by Rareware (as Killer Instinct) was really original and it has been funfairly orgotten in spite of its fine quality. It is not something extremely special but it is enjoyable enough. It had fairly good graphics, making use of the quality of Nintendo 64, and a soundtrack which is one of the strong points of this game, in my opinion. There even were CD's with the soundtrack of this game that were released at the time.

And what is Blast Corps about? It's a hard game to catalogue due to its originality. We must use several vehicles (a excavator, a plane, a car, a tram and even some robots) and demolish every building that are between the goal and a lorrywith nuclear stuff and which has lost control. Our main task is avoiding the disaster and the way to do it is by destroying anything which impedes the way to the lorry... Always minding of the life of surrounding innocents of course... Thus said all of this sounds a bit odd.... but it is really fun.

The game is plenty of stages and vehicles to use. Each one has different controls, a different way to be used, and we must combine them to clear the way against the set time, which will depend on the stage which we play.

Bah, it's not necessary to comment anymore about the game that Bart Simpson always wanted to own!

The best of the game: Demolishing stuff as a crazy can be very fun. How original the cartridge is, how great Rareware were!

The worst: Nobody remembers this game nowadays! Unfair... Apart from this: there should be more different modes to play.
